If you’re a sports fan – and you probably are if you are reading this Blog – early Spring is your favorite time of the year. Because that’s when the NHL and NBA Playoffs are in full swing. And, as the saying goes, “it’s win or go home, baby!”

The Colorado Avalanche look to reclaim their title this season, but they have their hands full.
Hockey fans are about to see whether the Colorado Avalanche can defend their title. It’s proving a little more difficult than they might have thought, with the upstart Seattle Kraken giving them all they can handle.

The Boston Bruins set an NHL record this season, posting 64 wins. Are they the team to beat?
The Boston Bruins actually took the President’s Trophy this year – which goes to the team with the best record in the regular season. The Bruins didn’t just end up with they best record in pro hockey. They also set a new NHL record for wins (64) and points (165). But the past several seasons, winning the President’s Trophy has been a bit of a curse. Since the 1985-86 season, the President’s Trophy has been awarded 37 times, but only eight of those teams went on the claim the Stanley Cup.
Greeley Avenue will carry all the Stanley Cup Playoff games. With over a dozen widescreen tvs, you won’t miss a single slap shot. And as the Playoffs progress, the big matches will be shown on their famous Big Screen.
If you prefer to follow the bouncing ball, Greeley is your spot for NBA Playoff action, too. Yeah, the Blazers are already on Summer vacation, but there are 16 other teams still hoping to take the NBA title. Well, better make that 15 teams: the 76ers eliminated the Nets in just four games, so that series is over.

The Kings and Warriors are both lighting it up this post season. It’s a shame one of them will be staying home after this series.
With the Golden State Warriors having a bit of a down year and other NBA teams heating up at just the right time, it’s anyone’s guess who this year’s champion will be. I just hope it’s not the Lakers.
And really, who saw the Sacramento Kings taking the top spot in the West this season? And speaking of the Warriors and Kings – that series is all tied up at 2 games a piece.
Over in the East, it looks like it’s going to come down to the Bucks and Celtics vying for the Eastern Conference Championship, but go ahead New York Knicks, prove me wrong.
Of course, Greeley Avenue is known for more than just it’s widescreen tvs and world famous Big Screen. We also have the hands down best bar grub in North Portland. And their selection of beers and spirits is second to none. Plus, you just can’t beat the playoff atmosphere in a great sports bar. There is nothing like cheering for your favorite team among your fellow fans. Especially with a cold one in your hands.
So forget about Major League Baseball for a few weeks, and don’t cry in your beer over the Blazers starting their summer vacation early. Head on over to Greeley Avenue and catch some Playoff Fever!
