Nothing out of the sky, sea, or Earth could be more terrifying than the Greeley Grindhouse Movies!
When was the last time you sat in a bar with some good friends pounding down a few pints while laughing at a movie about a giant lizard? If this answer is never, then you’re in luck because Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill is here to serve your B movie needs at their Greeley Grindhouse movie screenings!
Every month the bar will be serving up another classic movie full of thrills, chills, and unintended laughs. Mac Bell, B movie guru and host, will offer trivia, history, and lead the talk on Greeley’s interactive “Smack TV,” where viewers can text in their own jabs and jokes about the movie for the whole bar to see.
“Watching a crowd get into one of these films while enjoying the bar’s good food and drink is a blast. Unlike going to a movie at a local retro theater where you have to silence yourself and your cell phone throughout the course of the screening, the crowd gets to openly chat with the entire bar about what they’re seeing and comment on the film’s more absurd scenes.” – Mac Bell
“I love, love, love attending Greeley Grindhouse! Greeley Avenue Bar & Grill is always so welcoming to our oddball group, letting us watch really weird movies while enjoying their tasty burgers and tots. And the pudding shots, let’s not forget about those! The crowd is always so much fun and I especially enjoy reading the hilarious jabs people contribute to Smack TV. Nothing like live-action movie riffing!” – Greeley Grindhouse Fan – Emily McGrath Kersh
The next Greeley Grindhouse will take place on Thursday, January 15th at 7:20 PM with a screening of THE KILLER SHREWS (1959). You’ve been warned!
Mac manages to find some of the worst/best movies out there for your viewing ‘pleasure’. Movies that make “Plan 9 From Out Space” seem like “On the Waterfront” or “Citizen Kane”. Many of these gems also contain actors who are well past their prime and just mailing it in for a paycheck. Which means they really overdo it.
Luckily, Greeley serves up enough good beer and burgers to help you overcome your shame of admitting you like these kind of movies.
